The Foundation of North Georgia's Cross Country League
The North Georgia Youth Cross Country league provides a structured and professional environment specifically designed for rec teams, middle schools, club teams and unattached runners. Our fall cross country season features 6 meticulously organized meets across the region, where we prioritize fair competition and athletic development in a supportive setting for every runner. Most of the teams that participate in this league use it to get ready for the GRPA State Meet and then on to USATF and AAU meets.
Meet Structure & Operational Standards
Course Layouts
Distances & Marking
Meets feature grade-appropriate distances including 2K, 3K, and 5K championship routes. Courses are verified for accuracy and clearly marked with colored flags and heavy-duty directional signage for safe navigation.
Competition
Divisions & Scoring
We offer divisions for 8U, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14 and 15-18. Team scoring consists of the top 4 runners for each team in each age group.
Operations
Timing & Duration
All events are professional timed. We partner with FAST FEET TIMING. Meets typically run for 2.5 to 3 hours, ensuring a high-energy experience that respects the schedules of busy North Georgia families.
Coaches' League Role
Registration is managed directly by teams. Coaches are responsible for team rosters, athletes' behavioral standards, and regular training. Note: The league facilitates meet operations but does not provide individual program coaching.
League Operations
We manage all meet logistics: scheduling, meet director expertise, computerized timing, entry processing, and certified officials to ensure fair competition for every club.
Weather & Safety
Meets proceed in light rain. In the event of lightning or dangerous weather, we follow strict safety protocols. Updates are pushed immediately to team directors via our app.
